Strange Problem

Hmm, this is odd. I'm updating computers to 0.8.2 and a few of them haven't been used for a while. I started one of these computers up just now and the old taskbar icon came up (version 0.56). However, when I tried an update it said this computer did not exist. Weird, as it had over a thousand hours of stats. I've updated to 0.8.2 but when I look at the stats I get this.

he computer JupiterPB isn't in our database.
It could be one of the following problems:

Obviously the computer JupiterPB does not exist.
The user 350Z does not exist.
This computer has not committed any snapshots yet.

The database must be aware of the computer as I didn't add the PB at the end of the computer's real name when I updated.

Just noticed that my computer count has dropped by a huge amount. Have you removed unused computers from the database? I intend using most if not all of the computers I have registered a some time in the future.

Pete

At the moment Deimos is in the process to moving support the 0.8x series and newer and dropping support for 0.5x. The computer name at the website is one of the differences.

The computer stats are available at http://deimos-project.net/stats/view/350Z/jupiter Without the 'PB'.

And yes, I removed a lot of inactive users and computers. A lot of them were 2 years old and had statistics from very old versions which were sometimes inaccurate. I do have backups of course so if you want statistics back from certain computers, let me knop.

O.K, would it be possible to reinstate all my XP machines? I'm not really bothered about my Windows 2000 machines at present.

Thanks,

Pete

I will add them after the weekend.

Isn't it a lot of work to install Deimos at so many computers? I heard that a .msi package is a lot easier for server administrators. Should I create a Deimos .msi package?

Well, I have to do them one at a time as all my terminals except one are occupied but it doesn't take too long to move them about.

Thanks,

Pete
